Step 1: Admission Procedures

Make sure you read the admission requirements carefully before you Apply.

Applicants are required to apply direct through Online Student Information Management (OSIM) System of the Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University (SUMAIT) available from the University Website www.sumait.ac.tz or visit Admission office at SUMAIT Chukwani Zanzibar for more assistance.

Each Applicant must pay a non-refundable Application Fee Tsh. 10,000/=. All Payment should be paid through PBZ Islamic Bank Account 0710412000 SUMAIT UNIVERSITY.

The bank receipt has to be uploaded manually to the admission system.

Step 1: Admission Requirements

1. Bachelor of Arts with Education

Requirements: Applicants should have Two principal passes in Advanced level in the following subjects: History, English, Geography, Kiswahili or Arabic with minimum of 4 points.

OR Diploma in Secondary Education with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0, with a principal pass in Advanced level.

Duration: 3 Years

2. Bachelor of Science with Education

Requirements: Applicants should have Two principal passes in Advanced level in the following subjects: Physics, Advanced Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science or Geography with minimum of 4 points.

OR Diploma in Secondary Education with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0, with a principal pass in Advanced level.

Duration: 3 Years

3.  Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Psychology

Requirements: Applicants should have Two principal passes in Advanced level in the following subjects: History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, Literature in English, French, Arabic, Fine Art, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics,Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition with minimum of 4 points.

OR Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Public Health, Psychiatric, Medicine, Sociology, Social Work, Law, Nursing, Philosophy, Pharmaceutical, Human Resources Management, International Relations, Local Government Administration, Community Development, Procurement and Supply Management, Records Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Theology, Economics, Office Administration, Journalism, Midwifery or Education with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Duration: 3 Years

4. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

Requirements: Applicants should have Two principal passes in Advanced level in the following subjects: Advanced Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Economics or Accounting with minimum of 4 points.

OR Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System, Business Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Networks, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, telecommunications Engineering with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0, with a pass in Mathematics in Secondary Education.

Duration: 3 Years

Step 2: How to Apply

Ensure that you have the following requirements before going to Online Application System

1. Form Four Index Number
2. A valid email address
3. An active phone number
4. Date of Birth
5. Place of Birth
6. NIDA/Zanzibar  ID /or Passport Number
7. Parent/Guardian name
8. Parent/Guardian Mobile Number
9. Parent/Guardian living place
10. A non-refundable application Fee Tsh. 10,000/= for Certificate, Diploma
    and Bachelor Degree
11. A non-refundable application Fee Tsh. 30,000/= for Master Degree
