564 Applicant Called For Interview at TARURA Dodoma Engineer and Procurement and Supplier Officer II
Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) were officially inaugurated by Hon. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa Kassim on 2nd July 2017. The launching of TARURA followed after announcement in the National Gazette with GN 211 of 12nd May 2017.
The Prime Minister directed the TARURA to kick out rampant corruption that prevails in tender processes, especially for road projects. “Only capable contractors should be hired to execute road projects through competitive tendering,” remarked the Premier.
He also ordered TARURA to address poor supervision of the construction contracts between contractors and authorities in road projects, emphasizing on transparency in all contracts for public works.
Mr. Majaliwa warned some district council leaders whom he accused of re-channeling funds allocated for roadworks to other projects, reiterating that funds should be used as per the planned projects.
Functions
The main functions of TARURA shall be to:-
i) Develop and maintain rural and urban roads network;
ii) Carry out engineering traffic and economic studies for the maintenance and improvement of the road network;
iii) Establish, maintain and update road management systems;
iv) Undertake procurement and management of contracts for design, maintenance, emergency repairs, spot improvements, rehabilitation, upgrading and construction of roads;
v) Improve road safety and manage environmental impact in the road network,

The goal of TARURA is to provide sustainable and cost-effective maintenance and development of the Rural and Urban Road Network to support socio-economic development in Tanzania.

Be a leading institution in the management of the network of rural and urban roads.
Responsibility
The agency’s role is to plan, design, build, rehabilitate and maintain the network of rural and urban roads based on cost effectiveness for sustainable social and economic development
Malengo
Based on the goal, vision and mission, the main objectives of TARURA will be: –
i) Reducing HIV / AIDS transmission and improving support services
ii) Strengthen and develop the National Anti-Corruption Policy
iii) Improving the network of Rural and Urban Roads
iv) Improving the management of Financial Resources
v) Improving human resource management.
vi) Improving the capacity of the institution in carrying out the required responsibilities

CONDITIONS TO BE OBSERVED BY CANDIDATES
1. All candidates are required to come with one passport size photo;
2. All candidates are required to come with Original Academic Certificates, Certificates of
Registration by the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board
(PSPTB), Engineers Registration Board (ERB) and Birth Certificates;
3. The Agency will not be responsible for any cost related to candidates’ turn up for the
Aptitude Test and Oral Interview;
4. Lobbying and canvassing will not be entertained and may work to the candidate’s
disadvantage;
