The book is prepared according to the 2005 History Syllabus for Secondary Schools, Form I – IV, issued by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

The book is divided into six chapters, which are:

  • Socio-economic development in pre-colonial Africa
  • Early contacts between Africa
  • Middle East and Far East
  • Early contacts between Africa and Europe
  • Africa and the slave trade; and
  • Industrial capitalism.
