035 Engineering Science FTNA NECTA Assessment Format PDF
This assessment format is a revised version of a format that the National Examinations Council of Tanzania issued in 2017.
The aim of preparing this format is to accommodate changes in the revised syllabus issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2019.
The changes include the rearrangement of topics, the addition of new topics, and the removal of outdated content. Hence, the emphasis in this format is placed on a competency-based assessment.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The assessment will test the extent to which the students are able to:
1 identify the properties of matter;
2 make appropriate measurements of physical quantities;
3 use different types of forces in daily life;
4 identify the effects of motion in the operation of machines;
5 make appropriate computations of work, energy and power;
6 produce and transmit sound waves;
7 identify properties of light;
8 apply the concept of friction in daily life;
9 states the principles of moments;
10 classify simple machines;
11 apply the principle of fluid mechanics in everyday life;
12 develop principles of thermal energy in heat manipulation;
13 develop concepts and principles of electricity in maintaining and repairing appliances.
