The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) is a body corporate established on 1st July 2005 under the Universities Act 2005 (Chapter 346 of the Laws of Tanzania) with the mandate to recognise, approve, register, and accredit universities operating in Tanzania and local or foreign university-level programs being offered by registered higher education institutions.

What to do for TCU Multiple Selected Applicants?
Applicants admitted to more than one university should confirm their admission to one of the universities from today, 03rd to 21st September, 2025. This confirmation is done using a special secret number sent via SMS to their mobile numbers or email addresses used when applying for admission.
Those who do not receive the message in time are advised to log in to the admission systems of colleges they were admitted to and requested to use a short message with a special secret number to be able to verify themselves in the relevant college.
In addition, confirmation of admission should be done through the account that the applicant used when applying for admission. For ease of reference, a list of names of those admitted to more than one college is available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz).
Failure to confirm your admission will result in its cancellation. As a result, you must consider your decision carefully before confirming.
