Step 1: Choose a qualification

Our programmes

We offer more than 70 career-focused programmes. The documents and links below will help you choose the programme that’s right for you.

The Prospectus booklet and pamphlets contains the admission requirements for all the programmes presented at CPUT, as well as general admission information, qualification structures, and details about where each programme is presented.

Prospective students are encouraged to check the subject and mark requirements of the programme they want to study before applying.

Step 2: Gather your documents or upload further/ outstanding documents

All applications must be submitted online (except otherwise indicated in the list of programmes)

Step 3: Check for the additional requirements (additional supporting documentation that is required for some specific programmes)

Fourth Step 4: Check the format that you are required to prepare, save and submit the supporting documentation during your online application

Step 3: Get an application form (manual application only)

All applications must be submitted online. Regretfully no manual applications will be processed including those submitted via post or over the counter.

No manual posted or over the counter applications will be accepted unless for those categories that cannot submit online and as outlined in Step 3: Get an application form here
Please note that applicants are limited to three choices. (except for RPL – only one choice permissible).

Step 5: Follow-up and get your admission status

All applications are loaded onto the CPUT system. Once loaded onto the system, an sms will be sent to you acknowledging that the institution has received your application. Note, this is not an acceptance notice.

Application process

Student Life and Residential services will be rolling out online Residence applications for students currently in residence and those applying for residence accommodation for first time. All applicants/students will be able to apply for residence.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to limited number of accommodation spaces available, application for residence does not guarantee placement in residence even if you are academically accepted into a programme.

For Students who never applied at CPUT / Applying for first time at CPUT residence application can only be processed after you have completed your online academic application.

Current CPUT continuing students can just login onto their SOS IEnabler and proceed with residence application.
