NIDA issues three types of IDs, which are citizen ID, resident alien ID, and refugee ID for those 18 years of age and older and living in the country legally.

i. National Identity Card

Its requirements:

Birth certificate
Certificates of basic education,
Passport _ _
Certificate of secondary education ( form iv and vi )
driver’s license
Health insurance card
Social security fund card
Voter’s card
Tax payer number ( Tin. No )
Zanzibar resident ID
Letter from the Chairman of the local government

ii. Resident Alien ID

Its requirements:

Passport of the country he comes from
Permit to stay in the country to conduct various activities that the applicant does

iii. Refugee ID

Requirements:

Refugee Status: A document that proves that the applicant has the status of being a refugee in the country

The National Identity Authority (NIDA), requests citizens who have applied for National Identity Cards and have not received them, to visit the Authority’s website www.nida.go.tz to learn about the identity cards produced and distributed in ward, sheikha, local, and NIDA offices in the district and so go get them because there are still many IDs that have not been taken.
