NIDA issues three types of IDs, which are citizen ID, resident alien ID, and refugee ID for those 18 years of age and older and living in the country legally.
i. National Identity Card
Its requirements:
- Birth certificate
- Certificates of basic education,
- Passport _ _
- Certificate of secondary education ( form iv and vi )
- driver’s license
- Health insurance card
- Social security fund card
- Voter’s card
- Tax payer number ( Tin. No )
- Zanzibar resident ID
- Letter from the Chairman of the local government
ii. Resident Alien ID
Its requirements:
- Passport of the country he comes from
- Permit to stay in the country to conduct various activities that the applicant does
iii. Refugee ID
Requirements:
- Refugee Status: A document that proves that the applicant has the status of being a refugee in the country
The National Identity Authority (NIDA), requests citizens who have applied for National Identity Cards and have not received them, to visit the Authority’s website www.nida.go.tz to learn about the identity cards produced and distributed in ward, sheikha, local, and NIDA offices in the district and so go get them because there are still many IDs that have not been taken.
How to get NIDA original copy in Tanzania 2024 (Jinsi ya Kujua Kilipo Kitambulisho Chako Cha NIDA www.nida.go.tz)
1. Go direct to NIDA online portal at https://vitambulisho.nida.go.tz/
2. Click Find your region where you registered for NIDA “Chagua Mkoa Wa Mahali Ulipo Jiandikisha”
3. Choose District “Chagua Wilaya Ya Mahali Ulipo Jiandikisha”
4. Select “Ward” “Chagua Kata Ya Mahali Ulipo Jiandikisha”
5. Select ‘Village/Street “Chagua Kijiji/Mtaa Wa Mahali Ulipo Jiandikisha”
6. Now check your name and place where you will find your original copy of NIDA
In addition, citizens can go through the lists posted in NIDA district offices.
