INTRODUCTION

Same District Council was formally established by an Act of Parliament Chapter 287 (District Authorities) of the Laws of Tanzania and commenced its functions on 01 January 1984.

In addition the Council has 13 Departments and 6 units that perform various functions as set out below. : –

POST LIVESTOCK OFFICER II – 1 POST

APPLICATION TIMELINE: 2021-09-01 2021-09-14

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Conduct veterinary diseases screening for pastoralists in its area;

ii. In collaboration with the Health Inspectors, inspect the meat and hygiene of the Slaughterhouse regularly;

iii. Collect data on meat and animal products such as hides and write reports;

iv. treating veterinary diseases under the supervision of a Veterinarian and
advising pastoralists on how to protect livestock against diseases;

v. Regularly visiting pastoralists and providing them with professional professional advice in their area of ​​work;

vi. Collect all data on livestock development in its area;

vii. Advising on and supervising the construction of Diplomas, Abattoirs, Homes and Structures related to better animal husbandry;

viii. Manage josho drug combinations;

ix. Involvement in the relocation and production of livestock in general;

x. Advise breeders on best practices for milk production and calf care; and

xi. To perform such other functions as may be assigned to him by his Chief of Staff.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Form Six (VI) graduates who have graduated from Veterinary Diploma from the College of Agriculture and Livestock or any other Government recognized College.
