Argentina and PSG soccer star Lionel Messi has been announced as the best FIFA player of the year 2022
while setting the record of being the only player who has ever entered the best FIFA team of the year more times (16) followed by Cristiano Ronaldo who entered (15 times) .
Messi was competing for the award along with Karim Benzema of Real Madrid/France and Kylian Mbappe of PSG/France.
Along with the big award, other awards given today at the FIFA awards night (FIFA The Best) are the best goalkeeper award that went to the goalkeeper of Argentina and Aston Villa Emi Martinez.
The best coach award went to Argentina National Team Coach Lionel Scaloni, the best team of the year award (Courtois, Hakimi, Cancelo, Van Dijk, Modric, De Bruyne, Casemiro, Messi, Benzema, Haaland and Mbappe.
