NACTE Selection Second Round 2021/2022

The National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) is a corporate body established by the National Council for Technical Education Act, 1997 (Act No. 9 of 1997).

The Act provides a legal framework for the Council to  coordinate provision of technical education and training and establish an efficient national qualifications system that will ensure that products from technical institutions are of high quality and respond to changing needs as well as technological innovations in the world.

The mandate of the National Council for Technical Education

Regulatory Function: to establish the regulatory framework for technical education and training, leading to quality assured qualifications;

Quality Assurance Function: to assist technical institutions to improve and maintain the quality of the education they provide and to ensure that their programmes meet labour market demand, by guiding and monitoring their adherence to the regulatory framework; and

Advisory Function: to advise both Government and technical institutions on the strategic development of technical education and training can be made.

These three aspects are interrelated and together make up the core functions of NACTE; a process leading to quality assured qualifications in technical education and training in our country.

An exemplary regulatory body to oversee the quality of Technical Education and Training for National socio-economic development.

Mission

To oversee the provision of quality Technical Education and Training, through registration and accreditation of tertiary non-university institutions, and advising the Government on development of quality technical education and training for the benefit of Tanzanians.

Objectives

(a) To establish and maintain the regulatory framework for technical and vocational  technical education and training, leading to quality-assured qualifications;

(b) To assist technical  and vocational institutions to improve and maintain the quality of the education they provide and to ensure that their programmes meet labour market demands by guiding and monitoring their adherence to the regulatory framework; and

(c) To advise the Government on the strategic development of technical and vocational education and training so that it can make informed decisions with regard to policymaking.

RESULTS OF VARIOUS PROGRAM CHOICE OF SEPTEMBER FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022

The National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) is a body established by Act of Parliament Chapter 129, to regulate and coordinate the provision of education vocational and training in Vocational Education and Training colleges.

Role one of the Council’s is to ensure that training is provided in Colleges
Vocational Training and Training in the country meets the criteria and quality required in labor market domestically and abroad.

In carrying out that role, the Council has responsibility for coordinating student admission to Colleges and courses / programs recognized by the relevant authorities.

Admission for the academic year 2021/2022 started on May 27, 2021 until
August 13, 2021. Applicants for Diploma and Diploma courses they sent applications for admission to various Colleges.

Colleges chose Qualified applicants based on the programs offered. 66,498 Applicants from 330 Colleges were selected to join various programs and then submitted to NACTE for review.

Of these, 63,813 applicants (96%) have met the criteria for joining the selected programs and 2,685 (4%) they did not have the criteria to join the programs they selected.

Names of Certified applicants have already been sent to Colleges.

All applicants submitted to NACTE for verification have been applied
message and code via phone and e-mail submitted by Colleges
when sending an application.

The code will be used to verify their admission and credentialson courses selected by Colleges through the NACTE website www.nacte.go.tz by clicking on the “Verification results 2021” button.

Applicants those who are verified and their credentials do not meet the criteria of the program are advised re-apply to Colleges and courses according to the criteria in the second phase which will run from September 17 to 29, 2021.

The call, too, is issued to those who did not ask to do so because there would be no other chance of admission for the academic year 2021/2022.

In addition, the names of the applicants to be selected in this second phase will be submitted to NACTE for review from 23 September to 3rd October, 2021. The results of the review will be released by October 15, 2021.

Courses for the nominees will officially begin on October 18, 2021

Thus, students, parents and the general public are advised to avoid cheated by those who claim that studies have started before that date.

The Council is also closely monitoring all colleges that violate the rules and drastic measures will be taken against them.
