Kigamboni Municipal Council was established by subdividing Temeke Municipal Council into two councils namely Temeke Municipal Council and Kigamboni Municipal Council Jobs.

The Council was declared in 2015 by the Government notes (GN) Number 512 of 6th November 2015 and directed to start effectively from April, 2016.

The establishment was executed under the local Government (Urban Authorities) Act. No. 8 Sections 8 and 9 of 1982.

The Municipal Council Jobs is among five Councils which form Dar es Salaam City in Tanzania, other Municipalities are Kinondoni, Ilala, Temeke and Ubungo.

The Mission of the council is To provide high quality socio – economic services to the community through efficient and effective use of resources and good governance for improving living standards.

The Vision of the council is A well –Educated community with better livelihood by the year 2022.

The Kigamboni shopping center is conveniently located near the Kigamboni Ferry Terminal allowing travellers to browse and purchase items whilst they are preparing to alight or after disembarking from the ferry.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania with an age not above 45 years of age except for those who are in Public Service;
