Historical Background

51 years ago, on July 10, 1963, the Nation Building Force was officially established following the implementation of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers.

The session was held on April 19, 1963 under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief and President of Tanganyika, the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.

The idea of ​​establishing JKT came from the recommendations of the General Meeting of the Youth League of the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU Youth League), a meeting held in Tabora region in 1958 which was given by the Secretary General of the TANU Youth League at that time, Brother Julius Nyerere, who now it’s late.

The Act That Established JKT

The Nation Building Force exists legally, since when it arrived in 1964, the Parliament enacted the Law for the establishment of JKT and the law gave legal force to the 1963 decision of the Council of Ministers to establish the Army.

According to the Law, joining JKT was voluntary. In 1966, the law was amended to establish a procedure for joining JKT in accordance with the Law.

The Nation Building Force (JKT) says the process for young people to bring volunteer training has officially started, asking those with qualifications to apply while stressing that it is not related to the issue of providing and finding jobs for those who get the opportunity.

This was said by the Head of the Administrative Branch of (JKT), Brigadier General Hassan Mabena today, Thursday August 25, 2022 while speaking to journalists about various JKT issues. Saying that the process will involve the youth of mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

He noted that the procedure for young people to apply and be selected to join the training is being coordinated by the offices of regional and district heads starting today Thursday.

Qualifications for Joining JKT 2022

He said that after taking the young people who completed the sixth form who are graduating their training next month, the next step is to take those who want to volunteer, saying that among the criteria is from 16 to 18 years for those with seventh grade education.

“A person with a form four education should not be more than 20 years old, a form six person should not be more than 18 years old and not more than 22 years old. At the diploma level, their age should not be more than 25 years, a bachelor’s degree should not be more than 26 years old and a master’s degree should not be more than 30 years old.

“For young people who completed form four and form six from the years 2019 to 2022, they must have a score of at least 32 and have a grade of first to fourth for young people in form six. They must have a birth certificate and grade seven and not be and the mark of painting the body,” said Brigadier General Mabena.

Apart from that, Brigadier Mabena said that JKT is not involved in providing employment to young people who will get the opportunity of training or find them jobs in other areas but it provides training that helps them become self-employed after finishing the contract with the army

How to Apply for JKT 2022 Vacancies

Applicants for JKT 2022 positions will apply through the offices of Regional Commisioners and District Commissioners throughout the country, Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar

A CALL TO JOIN JKT TRAINING BY OFFERING IT IN 2022

Major General Rajabu Mabele, the head of the Nation Building Force (JKT), has called on all young people in mainland Tanzania and the islands to volunteer for the Nation Building Force’s training in 2022.

The Offices of the Heads of Regions and Districts where the applicant lives coordinate the application and selection process for young people to join the training.

The process of preparing young people to volunteer for the Nation Building Army begins today, August 25, 2022. The selected youth must report to the National Building Army Camps in September 2022.

Furthermore, the Nation Building Force would like to inform the youth who will be given the opportunity that it does not provide employment for youth, nor is it involved in finding employment for youth in Organizations, Defense and Security Agencies, and various Government and Non-Governmental Organizations.

Instead, it provides training that will enable the youth to become self-employed after their contract with the Nation Building Force is completed.

Applicant’s Qualifications | Sifa za Muombaji

The following are the applicant’s qualifications:

1. Be a Tanzanian national.

2. Age and education

a. The age range for youth with a seventh-grade education is 16 to 18 years.

b. Young people with a Fourth Form education who are under the age of 20.

c. Sixth Form students should be no younger than 18 years old and no older than 22 years old.

d. Young people with a diploma who are under the age of 25.

e. Young people with a Bachelor’s degree who are under the age of 26.

f. Young people with a Master’s degree, with no upper age limit of 30 years.

g. Young people with a PhD who are under the age of 35.

3. He should be in good health, have a clear mind, and have no marks on his body (TaRoo)

4. He has never been found guilty in court and has never been imprisoned because of his good character and discipline.

5. For young people who have completed secondary education in form four and six, the following results should be obtained in the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022: –

a. Fourth-year students must have a minimum score of 32.

b. Young people in the sixth form should be successful from first to fourth grade.

6. He should have a primary education and have completed the seventh grade.

7. Keep your original birth certificate (Original Bilh Celificate)

8. Possess a genuine school leaving certificate (Cerificate)

9. Original Certificate of Results (Original Academic Certificate / Transcript)

10. He must not have worked in the police force, prisons, training colleges, or KMKM, or for any other government agency.

11. He should not have used JR in his back operations.
12. He should not use drugs, marijuana, or anything similar.

13. The educational requirements for those with talents in various sports and arts are the same as those listed above.

JKT expects the selected youth to arrive at the camps with the following items:

1. ‘Dark Blue’ coloured blouse with elastic waist and one pocket at the back, knee length without zipper.

2. Sports rubbers in green or blue.

3. Two bed sheets in sea blue.

5. Anti-cold clothing for those stationed in cold areas.

6. A truck suit in green or blue.

7. A light green flannel with a round collar that is unprinted.
