The Saint Augustine University of Tanzania – SAUT

St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) was established in 1998. It is the successor of the Nyegezi Social Training Institute (NSTI) founded in 1960 by the Catholic White Fathers (currently known as the Missionaries of Africa). This was under the initiative of Bishop Joseph Blomjous of the Mwanza Diocese.

The University extends to over 600 acres in the Nyegezi- Malimbe area 10 km south of Mwanza City. It lies 4 km off the Mwanza- Shinyanga road on the shores of Lake Victoria.

As part of Tanzania’s central highlands (1140 m above the sea level), the area to the south of Lake Victoria is noted for its moderate temperatures. Mwanza can be reached from other parts of Tanzania and East Africa by train, air, ferry and highways.

Day-to-day operations of SAUT are directed by the Vice Chancellor, who works closely with the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, the Deans of Faculties and Heads of Department.

How To Apply For SAUT Admission Online (SAUT OAS)

Eligible candidates are required to apply ONLINE must adhere to the following:

(i) Candidates are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active for the duration of this enrollment project. We may send call letters through this registered e-mail ID.

(ii) In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should have a mobile number.

(iii) Carefully fill in the necessary details in the Online Application Form at the appropriate places and submit the same Online.

(iv) After filling in the details on the application form candidates are required to print the summary of the application form.

(v) There is no provision to modify the submitted online application. Candidates are requested to make sure to fill in correct the details in the online application, if any.

(vi) Scanned of all Educational Certificates,Academic Transcripts, Birth Certificate,paylip for ready for upload as supported documents

(vii) Curriculum Vitae(CV) and relevant testimonials will be upload during process of application

(viii) An endorsement and/or letter from the sponsor/employed or guardian confirming his/her readiness to sponsor the applicant.

(vix) For PHD candidate should submit;

(a) Two or three pages description of personal research interests,previous teaching, research exprerience and career interests

(b) A concept paper of 10-20 pages in the proposed area of thesis specialization which demostrate nature understanding of research topic, theory and knownledge of the current state of research in the candidates’s area of interest.

This is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the St. Augustine University of Tanzania. To apply for admission, follow the steps below;

Step 1: Access the SAUT Admission website

Access the SAUT Admission website: SAUT – Online Application System (OAS)

Step 2: The SAUT online application system will open

Navigate to the Undergraduate or postgraduate section and Read the available instruction carefully.

Step 3: Registration

Navigate to the registration link and Fill in the required information to complete your registration. The information needed during the registration stage includes

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Email Address
  • Mobile Telephone Number
  • O-Level index number,

To finalize registration, you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.

If you are successfully registered, then the system will send you an email or SMS. Please log in to your email account and use the link sent to your email to activate your admission account.

Step 4: SAUT online application login

Login to SAUT OAS by using your Username and password. Complete your registration by providing your basic information such as gender, marital status, and date of birth, among others.

Step 5: SAUT Application fees payment

Once you have completed the registration stage, the control number will automatically be generated and you will be able to make an application fee payment and complete the application. For a successful application, an applicant must pay a non-refundable application fee of 10,000/= TZS.

  • Applicants are required to apply online through this portal and follow the instructions given to complete their applications. Payment can be done via mobile money (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, and Airtel Money) or directly into the SAUT bank account – CRDB Bank after getting Control Number.

Step 6: The course selection

Feature will only be visible for filling once the application fee is paid, carefully select your courses and submit your completed application: In order to successfully complete the application; the applicant is required to complete all steps from “Home” to ”Submit” your application.

IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE STARTING APPLICATION

1. Your name must be the same as in Form IV Certificate

2. Date of Birth must be the same as in Birth Certificate

3. Form IV index Number must be the same as in Form IV Certificate

4. Failure to any of the above, Your application will be disqualified

5. Make sure Application Type and Entry Type are correct before submit form in the right side because you will not be able to start any new application

6. Once Form IV Index Number Registered, you will not be able to change it.

7. Application fee must be paid within four (4) days from the first day of filling an application, otherwise your account will be deleted permanent.

8. Make sure you read Admission requirement before selecting/Choose programmes.

9. Before applying, you must have valid email address and valid mobile number.
