WHAT IS SCHOOL INFORMATION SYSTEM (SIS)?
School Information System (SIS) is a School Management System used to collect routine data at school level
System supports School, Ward, District, Region and National level on delivery of education services
The system is available in Web and Mobile Application:
❖ Mobile App called SIS- Tanzania which is available on Play store (Android)
❖ WEB which is available for the following address sis.tamisemi.go.tz
Why SIS ?
▪ Capture real-time data (daily and weekly) in a userfriendly and in a systematic manner.
▪ Improve and Strengthen the daily performance management at all decentralized levels
▪ Enhance the culture of data use and decision from the point of service delivery to the national level.
▪ Provides daily management inputs in teaching and
learning processes of educational delivery.
USERS OF THE SIS
• Users of the system are staff who are:
1. Teachers and non-teachers at school level,
2. Ward Education Officer,
3. Council Education Department,
4. Regional Education Department,
5. TAMISEMI,
6. Ministry of Education (MoEST) and
7. Development stakeholders.
The system users at school level
1. THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
• Register and manage users at school level
• To assign responsibilities to users
• To create class streams
• To arrange teachers by subjects
• To arrange teachers by classes
• To arrange subjects by classes
• Attendance
2. CLASS TEACHER
• Checking and verifying a list of students in the assigned classroom.
• Arrange students in the streams created by the head of school
• Taking the student’s attendance
