Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU)
Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU) was established in 2006 and is a fully registered private higher learning institution with the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
It is owned by the Moravian Church in Tanzania under the Board of Trustees as provided in University Charter and Trust Rules in accordance with the Universities Act No.7,2005.
It is situated in South-Western Tanzania in Mbeya City. The University is located at BLOCK T along Tanzania- Zambia highway about 500 meters from the main road

Entry Requirements
For Bachelor Degree Programmes
1. Bachelor of Science with Education(BSCED)
i. Direct Applicants(Form Six leavers)
Two principal passes of a total of 4.0 points; that is principal passes of two “Ds” or one “C” and one “E” in the following subjects: Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Science Cluster.
ii. Equivalent Applicants(Diploma holders)
Diploma in Education with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
2. Bachelor of Arts with Education(BAED)
i. Direct Applicants(Form Six leavers)
Two principal passes Two principal passes of a total of 4.0 points; that is principal passes of two “Ds” or one “C” and one “E” in the following subjects: History, Kiswahili, English, Geography or Economics or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Arts Cluster.
ii. Equivalent Applicants(Diploma holders)
Diploma in Education with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
3. Bachelor of Education Languages(BEL)
i. Direct Applicants(Form Six leavers)
Two principal passes Two principal passes of a total of 4.0 points; that is principal passes of two “Ds” or one “C” and one “E” in English and Kiswahili Or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Arts Cluster.
ii. Equivalent Applicants(Diploma holders)
Diploma in Education with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
4. Bachelor of Divinity(BD)
i. Direct Applicants(Form Six leavers)
Two principal passes Two principal passes of a total of 4.0 points; that is principal passes of two “Ds” or one “C” and one “E” in the following subjects: History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, French, Arabic, Fine Art, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Arts Cluster.
ii. Equivalent Applicants(Diploma holders)
Diploma in Theology or Divinity with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0
For Certificate Programmes
An applicant for certificate programmes must have completed form four with atleast FOUR(4) passes of grade “D” or above.
Applicants for the programme of Nursing and Midwifery must have completed FORM FOUR with atleast four (4) passes of atleast “D” grade or above. Among the four passes THREE of them must be of physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.
For Diploma Programmes
The applicants MUST have completed form six with atleast ONE(1) principal pass and ONE(1) Subsidiary.
–OR–
The applicant MUST have Basic Technician Cetificate (NTA Level 4) corresponding to the programme the applicant applies.
An applicant for the programme of Nursing and Midwifery MUST have completed form six with FOUR principal passes, two of them MUST be of atleast grade “C” in Biology and Chemistry and grade “D” in Physics.
–OR–
The applicant MUST have Basic Technician Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery.
How to apply for TEKU Admission Online (Via TEKU OAS)
This is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Teofilo Kisanji University. To apply for admission, follow the steps below;
Step 1: Access the TEKU Admission website
Official Website : https://www.teku.ac.tz/
Step 2: The TEKU online application system will open
Navigate to the Undergraduate or postgraduate section and read the available instruction carefully.
Step 3: Registration
Navigate to the registration link and fill in the required information to complete your registration. The information needed during the registration stage includes
- First name
- Surname
- Email Address
- Mobile Telephone Number
- O-Level index number,
To finalize registration, you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.
If you are successfully registered, then the system will send you an email or SMS. Please log in to your email account and use the link sent to your email to activate your admission account.
Step 4: TEKU online application login
Login to TEKU OAS by using your Username and password. Complete your registration by providing your basic information such as gender, marital status, and date of birth, among others.
Step 5: TEKU Application fees payment
Once you have completed the registration stage, the control number will automatically be generated and you will be able to make an application fee payment and complete the application. For a successful application, an applicant must pay a non-refundable application fee of 10,000/= TZS.

Step #6: The course selection feature will only be visible for filling once the application fee is paid, carefully select your courses and submit your completed application: In order to successfully complete the application; the applicant is required to complete all steps from “Home” to” Submit” your application.
