The Fort Hare Foundation is 100% owned by the University of Fort Hare but operates independently under the leadership of a Board of Trustees. The Board subscribe to good corporate governance. The Foundation’s main purpose is to mobilise resources for the University of Fort Hare in order to achieve excellence and resilience.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Undergraduate
To be eligible for admission to degree study, applicants need to meet minimum requirements for eligibility:
Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
2. Postgraduate
The admission requirements for postgraduate study vary from one programme to another. You are advised to consult the Faculty directly in order to find out what is required for the course or degree that you want to take.

HOW TO APPLY TO UFH USING THE ONLINE APPLICATION
Things to note before applying online to UFH:
<> You’ll need an email address to complete the application. Don’t have one? Get an email address first.
<> South African applicants will need an ID number. Foreign applicants will need their passport number.
<> You will need to have registered for the NBTs before applying online.
<> You will need to pay an application fee.
<> Need accommodation? Make sure you mark this on your application form.
<> Remember to check faculty-specific requirements before applying.
<> Please note: Postgraduate applicants can only apply online.
