The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) is Government Institution which was established by the Parliamentary Act No. 21 of 1973. NECTA is responsible for the administration of all National Examinations and Assessments in Tanzania.
These formats provide a comprehensive scheme for assessing all subjects in the national examination.
The format book for the Primary Education Leaving Examination has been prepared by Tanzania Examinations Council based on the requirements of the Education Curriculum of the Primary in 2015.
This format will start to be used in 2024. In this Format book there are improvements to a number of paper sections especially in the subjects of:
i. 03 Maarifa ya Jamii na Stadi za Kazi
ii. 04 Hisabati,
iii. 05 Sayansi na Teknolojia na
iv. 06 Uraia na Maadili ambapo
where there will be three (03) parts A, B and C instead of the previous two (2) which are A and B.
There are also improvements made in the design of examination of all subjects that are examined at this level of education that is:
i. 01 Kiswahili
ii. 02 English Language
iii. 03 Maarifa ya Jamii na Stadi za Kazi,
iv. 04 Hisabati
v. 05 Sayansi na Teknolojia
vi. 06 Uraia na Maadili.
